In the year, 4048, the history of man would change forever. An invading ship came from the depths of space and delivered our inevitable reckoning. A sentient race of Cybernetic beings deployed an altered human macrophage virus, a bioweapon like never seen by man before. Within it, a type of white blood cell that surrounds and kills microorganisms, removes dead cells, and stimulates the action of other immune system cells. It triggered a reaction in our genome that we never expected. At first, it takes on like a common cold, then the symptoms get worse, resembling those of bubonic plague, aka black death. But the worst part? Once a host dies, an embedded nanobot takes control of the cerebral cortex and reanimates the body. So here we are, the edge of humanity as we know it.
